Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1 egg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
- 2 cups water
- 8 ounces spaghetti
Start by making the meatballs. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined, then shape into 1-inch meatballs.
Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the crushed tomatoes and water and bring to a simmer. Add the meatballs to the pot and simmer for 10 minutes.
Break the spaghetti in half and add it to the pot, stirring until it is submerged in the sauce. Simmer for an additional 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the spaghetti is al dente and the meatballs are cooked through.
Serve the one-pot spaghetti hot, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley, if desired.
