Spicy Black Bean Burgers with Avocado Salsa Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup diced onion
  • 1/4 cup diced red bell pepper
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 tsp. cumin
  • 1/2 tsp. chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 1 avocado, diced
  • 1/2 cup diced tomato
  • 1/4 cup diced red onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • 1 tbsp. lime juice
Start by preheating your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. In a large mixing bowl, combine the black beans, breadcrumbs, onion, red bell pepper, garlic, egg, cumin, chili powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Mix well and form into four patties.Brush each patty with a little bit of oil and place them on the grill. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are browned and crispy.
