If you’re a fan of Japanese cuisine, you’ve likely tried gyoza at some point. These tasty dumplings are a staple in Japanese cuisine, and with this recipe, you can easily make them at home. This recipe is super easy to follow and yields delicious results. So, let’s get started!
Ingredients:
- 1 pack of gyoza wrappers
- 1 cup of minced pork
- 1 cup of finely chopped cabbage
- 1 tablespoon of grated ginger
- 2 cloves of minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon of sake
- 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon of sesame oil
- 1/4 teaspoon of white pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 1/4 cup of water
- 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
Directions:
1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the minced pork, cabbage, ginger, garlic, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sake, cornstarch, sesame oil, white pepper, and salt. Mix until well combined.
2. Take a gyoza wrapper and place a heaping teaspoon of the pork mixture in the center. Using your finger, wet the edges of the wrapper with water. Fold the wrapper in half and pinch the edges together to seal. Repeat until all of the wrappers have been used.
3. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the gyoza to the pan in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until the bottoms are golden brown.
4. Add 1/4 cup of water to the skillet and immediately cover with a lid. Reduce the heat to medium-low and let the gyoza steam for 5-7 minutes or until the pork is fully cooked.5. Remove the lid and continue cooking for another 1-2 minutes or until the water has evaporated and the bottoms of the gyoza are crispy.6. Once the gyoza are cooked, serve them hot with soy sauce and/or chili oil for dipping.
