- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/2 cup gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup rice vinegar
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 2 green onions, sliced
- Oil for frying
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper.
- Coat the chicken in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
- Heat the oil in a large pot or deep fryer to 350 degrees F.
- Carefully add the chicken to the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 8-10 minutes.
- While the chicken is frying, make the sauce by whisking together the gochujang, soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, garlic, sesame oil, and sesame seeds in a small bowl.
- Once the chicken is cooked, transfer it to a large bowl and pour the sauce over it. Toss to coat evenly.
- Garnish with sliced green onions and serve hot.
Tips:
- For extra crispy chicken, let the coated chicken sit in the fridge for 30 minutes before frying.
- Make sure the oil is hot enough before adding the chicken to prevent it from becoming greasy.
- Adjust the spice level by adding more or less gochujang and cayenne pepper to the sauce.
