Fire up the grill and get ready for a delicious and healthy dinner with these grilled turkey burgers topped with homemade cranberry sauce. These burgers are perfect for a summer barbecue or a quick weeknight meal.
Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1/4 cup finely chopped green bell pepper
- 1/2 cup homemade cranberry sauce
- 4 hamburger buns
- 4 lettuce leaves
In a large bowl, mix together the ground turkey, egg, breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, onion, and green bell pepper. Form the mixture into 4 patties.
To make the cranberry sauce, combine 1 cup fresh cranberries, 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup sugar, and a pinch of salt in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens, about 10-15 minutes.
Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Grill the turkey burgers until cooked through, about 6-8 minutes per side. Toast the hamburger buns on the grill for a few seconds.
Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom bun, followed by the turkey burger, a spoonful of cranberry sauce, and the top bun. Serve immediately and enjoy!
