Ingredients:
- 1 whole duck (about 5-6 pounds)
- 1 tablespoon Chinese five-spice powder
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice wine
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons grated ginger
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 bunch green onions, chopped
- 1 cucumber, julienned
- 1 package of Chinese pancakes
Start by cleaning the duck and removing any excess fat or feathers. Pat it dry and season the inside with Chinese five-spice powder. Roast the duck at 375°F for 1 hour, or until the skin turns crispy and golden brown.
Mix together the honey, soy sauce, rice wine, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, and green onions to make a glaze. Brush the glaze all over the duck and roast for another 10-15 minutes, until the skin is crispy and the meat is tender and juicy.
Serve the Peking duck with julienned cucumber and Chinese pancakes. To make a pancake, place a pancake on your plate, add a few cucumber strips and a slice of duck, and wrap it up like a burrito. Enjoy the rich and savory flavors of this traditional Chinese dish!
