If you're looking for a delicious and flavorful way to cook steak, try this grilled flank steak with chimichurri sauce recipe. This dish is perfect for a summer BBQ or a special dinner with friends and family.
Ingredients:
- 1 flank steak (about 1 pound)
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh oregano, chopped
- 1/4 cup red onion, chopped
- 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
First, preheat your grill to medium-high heat. While the grill heats up, prepare the marinade. In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, red wine vinegar, garlic, oregano, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Place the flank steak in a large resealable plastic bag and pour the marinade over it. Seal the bag and shake well to coat the steak. Let it marinate for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator.
Next, prepare the chimichurri sauce. In a medium bowl, mix together the parsley, cilantro, oregano, red onion, red wine vinegar, red pepper flakes, and salt. Whisk in the olive oil until well combined. Set aside.
Once the grill is hot, remove the steak from the marinade and discard the excess marinade. Grill the steak for 4-6 minutes per side, or until it reaches your desired level of doneness. Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing it against the grain.Serve the sliced steak with the chimichurri sauce drizzled over the top. This dish pairs well with grilled vegetables, a fresh salad, or a side of rice.
