Ingredients
- 1 lb. white fish fillets (such as tilapia, cod, or halibut)
- 1 tbsp. chili powder
- 1 tsp. smoked paprika
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 tsp. onion powder
- 1/2 tsp. cumin
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
- 1 tbsp. olive oil
- 8-10 small corn tortillas
- 1/2 cup diced red onion
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- 1 lime, cut into wedges
Start by mixing together the chili powder, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, and cayenne pepper in a small bowl. Rub the spice mixture all over the fish fillets.
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the fish fillets to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, until blackened and cooked through.
Warm the tortillas in the microwave or over an open flame. Fill each tortilla with a piece of fish, some diced red onion, and chopped cilantro. Squeeze a wedge of lime over each taco and serve immediately.
Tips
- For a milder flavor, reduce the amount of cayenne pepper in the spice mixture.
- You can also use a pre-made blackened seasoning mix instead of making your own spice mixture.
- Feel free to add other toppings to your tacos, such as shredded cabbage, avocado, or salsa.
