Delicious Galbitang Recipe: A Perfect Soup for a Cozy Evening

If you're looking for a hearty and flavorful soup, Galbitang is a perfect fit. This Korean dish is made with beef short ribs, vegetables, and noodles, and it's perfect for a cozy evening at home.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds beef short ribs
  • 12 cups water
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon black peppercorns
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons fish sauce
  • 1 daikon radish, peeled and sliced
  • 2 carrots, sliced
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 4 ounces Korean sweet potato noodles (dangmyeon)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Before you start cooking, marinate the beef short ribs with soy sauce and garlic for at least 30 minutes. Then, add the ribs and water to a large pot and bring to a boil. Skim any foam that rises to the surface.

Add the onion, garlic, black peppercorns, soy sauce, and fish sauce to the pot. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 2 hours, or until the meat is tender.

After 2 hours, remove the beef short ribs from the pot and set aside. Add the daikon radish, carrots, and green onions to the pot and simmer for 20 minutes.

In a separate pot, cook the Korean sweet potato noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and rinse with cold water.

To serve, place a portion of noodles into each bowl, along with some of the beef short ribs and vegetables. Ladle some of the broth over the top and season with salt and pepper to taste.
