Ingredients:
- 1 package of dumpling wrappers
- 1/2 lb of ground pork
- 1/2 cup of finely chopped cabbage
- 1/4 cup of finely chopped onion
- 1/4 cup of finely chopped carrot
- 1/4 cup of glass noodles, soaked in hot water for 5-10 minutes and chopped into small pieces
- 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon of sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- 1 tablespoon of minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon of chopped green onion
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2-3 tablespoons of vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup of water
Preparation:1. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground pork, cabbage, onion, carrot, glass noodles, soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, minced garlic, chopped green onion, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.2. Take a dumpling wrapper and place a tablespoon of filling in the center. Dip your finger in the beaten egg and trace the edges of the wrapper. Fold the wrapper in half and press the edges together to seal. Repeat until all the filling is used.
3. Heat 2-3 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the dumplings to the pan, making sure they are not touching each other. Fry the dumplings for 1-2 minutes, or until the bottoms are golden brown.4. Pour 1/2 cup of water into the pan and cover with a lid. Reduce the heat to medium and let the dumplings steam for 5-7 minutes, or until the water has evaporated and the dumplings are fully cooked.
5. Serve the Mandu dumplings hot with your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy!
