- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 cups cooked and mashed sweet potatoes
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned and cooked through. Drain any excess fat.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the tomato paste and Worcestershire sauce.
- Add the beef broth and bring the mixture to a simmer. Cook for 10-15 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
- Meanwhile, in a separate bowl, mash the cooked sweet potatoes with the milk and Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Transfer the beef mixture to a 9-inch pie dish. Spread the mashed sweet potatoes over the top, using a spatula to smooth it out.
- Bake the Shepherd's Pie for 25-30 minutes, or until the sweet potatoes are lightly golden on top.
