If you're in the mood for a hearty and flavorful meal, these meatball subs with marinara sauce and cheese are perfect. They're easy to make and will satisfy even the biggest appetites. Here's how to make them:
Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1 egg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 sub rolls
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Start by preheating your oven to 375°F. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, salt, and black pepper. Mix everything together until it's well combined.
Next, shape the beef mixture into small meatballs about the size of a ping pong ball. You should be able to make about 16 meatballs with this recipe.
Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until they're fully cooked through.
While the meatballs are cooking, warm the marinara sauce in a small saucepan over low heat. Once the meatballs are done, cut the sub rolls in half and place them on a baking sheet. Toast the rolls in the oven for a few minutes until they're lightly browned.
To assemble the subs, spoon a generous amount of marinara sauce onto the bottom half of each roll. Add four meatballs on top of the sauce and sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese. Place the subs back in the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Remove the subs from the oven and serve them hot. Enjoy!
