If you're craving for some hearty Italian comfort food, this skillet lasagna recipe is perfect for you. It's a one-pot wonder that's easy to make and packed with flavors. Plus, it's a great way to use up any leftover noodles and sauce you have in your pantry. Here's how to make it:
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 8 lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Start by browning the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic and cook until the onion is translucent and the garlic is fragrant, about 3-4 minutes.
Add the crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper to the skillet. Stir everything together and let it come to a simmer.
Once the sauce is simmering, add the broken lasagna noodles to the skillet along with 1 cup of water. Give everything a good stir and then cover the skillet with a lid. Let the lasagna cook for about 20-25 minutes or until the noodles are tender and the sauce has thickened.
Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese on top of the skillet lasagna. Cover the skillet again and let the cheese melt, about 2-3 minutes.
Serve the skillet lasagna hot and enjoy!
